Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde tests positive for Coronavirus

His Excellency, the executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has confirmed that he tested positive for Coronavirus.

Makinde made the announcement himself through his verified Twitter handle, where he also stated the next step he would be taking based on the latest development.

He tweeted, “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate. I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”

This is coming after the second Coronavirus death was recorded in Nigeria..

NCDC had also announced that there are 14 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

“Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 in FCT
As at 09:30 pm 29th March there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.
